The former Communicable Disease Centre/Middleton Hospital at 2 Moulmein road sits on approximately 985,350 square feet of land. This site played a crucial role in Singapore’s medical history in combatting major diseases such as smallpox, cholera, SARS and HIV.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital which had previously occupied the site had moved to their new site in 2018, leaving the end of an era for this iconic state property.

Join us as we uncover the mystery behind these buildings, learning about what they were used for and the stories of former residents, nurses and doctors that once lived and worked in these very compounds, while under the watchful eye of the Black Lion of Moulmein, also known as “Orh Sai”.
