What does it take to turn local history into a walk that others want to follow? Students research the stories behind familiar places, build a heritage trail and learn to present it as a guided experience.
From choosing meaningful stops to practising their delivery, they develop research, storytelling and public speaking skills, while discovering how they can help pass Singapore’s heritage on to others.
Designed for secondary and pre-university students, humanities enrichment groups and student-led CCAs.
Recommended format: Four weeks, with time to research, prepare and practise between sessions. Shorter formats can be arranged, with the scope and activities adapted to your school’s schedule.

How the Programme Works
Stage 2: Research and Check the Evidence
In guided archive sessions, students learn to examine historical sources, compare accounts and check the information they find.
Stage 3: Plan the Trail
Students choose their stops, put them in order and decide which stories to include at each location.
Stage 4: Lead the Trail
Students rehearse and lead their guided walk, practising how to explain each stop clearly and keep a group interested.
